Re: Wyrmsun
As for artwork: I now think about releasing it under several licenses at the same time as to make sharing between open source projects easier. I thought that GPLv2 is better suited for code than for artwork and therefore went the CC BY SA way. Maybe I should insist on a double licensing as early as...

Re: Wyrmsun
Hi Andrettin, I also like to hear about other open strategy projects. Of course I wish you all the best with it. From the screenshots it looks quite advanced already. I also see that you use Lua and a cross-plattform game library. If you haven't done so - one could create an installer for Windows i...

Re: Wyrmsun
Pictures looks nice and I think you did a good job so far. I would appriciate some minor updates here. When did you startend with your game-developing? Thanks! =) I started developing the game about a year ago. The RTS engine itself has been undergoing development for more than a decade, though (th...

Wyrmsun
Hello folks, I am working on an open-source RTS game called Wyrmsun . Why am I posting this here? Because it has not only usual RTS gameplay, but also a turn-based "grand strategy mode", which might interest you. In this mode, production and diplomacy are handled in a grand strategy map, w...

Re: Small questions
Just thinking about the exploration part. Was there a fog of war in the original imperialism, i.e. was there something going on (infrastructure improvement, troop movement, ...) that you could only see if you had a presence in a nearby province or sea zone? And how should we make it here? My curren...

Re: Naming - Part two
I can imagine "Blood and iron" very well as a subtitle. You guys can search through the old discussion and will find many similar proposals. But don't forget. It wasn't all war at this time. Diplomacy for example was important too. True, but Bismarck, who uttered this quote, was a diploma...

Re: Naming - Part two
I suggest naming it "Blood and Iron", after Bismarck's famous speech. It would fit rather well with the game's era and theme.

Re: Introduce yourself
Is there any particular programming task in which contributions are needed? Perhaps I could be of help in that.Trilarion wrote:Hi Andrettin,
thanks for your interest. I hope I can soon devote as much time for the project as I used to spent some months ago. Every input is welcome.

Re: Introduce yourself
I am a great fan of the Imperialism series, and know a decent amount of C++ and Lua programming.
I used to participate a lot in the old Daily Imperialist messaging list, and created a few simple scenarios as well (such as a German unification one).
I am attentiously following this project
