Re: General Style - Guidelines

I like it. Add MyPaint to that list, it's what I've done all the terrain artwork in (although it doesn't handle layers unless images are saved in the Open Raster format which I have not done to this point). I'm also going to take a heavy look at Krita - it has some watercolor brushsets floating arou...

Re: Programming platform of choice

I think the biggest Pro of either language is the following: Python is a popular learning language, and is one of the most popular scripting languages . That means we have a far better chance of finding game-oriented programmers that want to get their feet wet with Python over Java. Java IMO doesn't...

Re: Terrain Tiles

I like that tileset YD - it has really good shoreline shapes. Unforunately, I don't know how much it will do for us as it's a different color from our base, and it's orthogonal which means we'd need to reorganize shapes for our staggered tile system. I can certainly use it as a guide though. Thank y...

Re: So, what's going on?

Tril, It's always good to hear from you. I really am going to be back to work on this after May when our site launches. I'm hoping I can wrap up terrain and main screen tiles this summer and be done with them. The source code will move to Github because there other devs can more easily access it (an...

Re: So, what's going on?

I'm not sure where Tril is these days. I had to stop drawing some months ago for a multitude of reasons: - Mother-in-law moved in. - Lost my only drawing-capable computer. - Needed to focus on a host-proof, multi-profile social network I'd been designing for the last several years. The first two iss...

Re: So, what's going on?

I am ordering a new tablet pen as soon as I have the money (lost my old one moving some rooms around). Once that happens, I should be back working on some artwork. I pitched a web project to my brother (programmer, was here under the name Raynman or something, currently works for the FBI), and he wa...

Re: Introduce yourself

Hello Taloyx! I'm Ven AKA Eric, and I'm an artist and general menial laborer for the project, although I've stepped back from some responsibilities lately. Most of us are on hiatus for the holidays, but generally we fall back in by mid January. If you are interested in helping, we are open to anythi...

Re: So, what's going on?

You will. I really do want to finish that tileset at some point, regardless of real life.

More than anything I hope you can push forward and continue making progress without others.

Re: So, what's going on?

So some personal issues have cropped up again. My wife's mother has deteriorating health, and is likely moving in with us. In any case, I'm in a race against time right now, to find a new revenue stream that can afford care for her down the road. I can assist artists who need clarification on projec...
