Re: VII. Military
If you want to add a bit of realistic behavior then I encourage you to make propsals provided that they do not make naval combat a complex and time consuming task. One could for example have the following set of attributes How to engage? (avoid at all cost, only engage if a victory is likely, engag...

Re:
Sorry, but currently not. Afair all people posting so far didn't want tactical naval battles since it would put too much emphasis on the military part of the game. And surely we have to balance economical, industrial, diplomatic and militaric activities. It's always difficult to exclude a good idea...

Re: Random scenarios - parameters
Another parameter I was meditating upon had to do with the map size and/or amount of water vs land. Dunno, playing FreeCiv earlier had me mulling that over.

Re: Random scenarios - parameters
This idea would add to the flavor of the game while not changing the game mechanics rules. Maybe could you say more about when there should be a chance for rebranding a nation? How many provinces/minor nations have to be colonized or annexed before getting this chance? Anyway I wrote it down on a l...

Re: Random scenarios - parameters
I had an idea. Why not have one of the parameters give you the chance to form new nations? Annex or colonize enough minor nations or enough of provinces from another major power to have your nation (potentially) renamed and/or picking a new flag. Would be a neat little goal to have in virtually any ...

Re: We need a NAME for the project!
I like yours, Haxaco. LBE sounds like a great way to abbreviate it too. Besides, not too many games out there that have a French sort of connotation to them.

Re: Taking capital cities with mega artillery stacks of deat
The way I usually solved the problem was pretty gamey. I had to wait until I developed motorized/modern artillery and just have engineers lower the walls beforehand to make sure I could oneshot those artillery regiments from afar. That implied that I could hold on around the city long enough, afford...

Re: Military
Sounds like a great plan. I'd like to incorporate an option for themed naming of units like for instance having Germans having different names for their regiments compared to the French instead of everyone having '1st Regulars'. Nothing too complicated. Something like a naming template would suffice...

"For Empire" Might be a good one.
You know, as in wars for empire. That way it can be abbreviated as 4E =p
