Merry christmas and happy new year!

The first real christmas for the project. It matured quite a bit in the last weeks and in the beginning of the new year everybody will see it as there will be the next release. Until then all the best!

Project’s first birthday today!

Last year on this day the google code page for this project was created. This meant that everybody could then collaborate and take part in the development. After some months of collecting ideas, setting up more web sites (this included) and even some more quiet time then in September of this year more people came together and just in time for the first birthday we have a first version 0.1.0. Not every project makes it that far and so it’s time to celebrate.

We celebrate of course by continueing the work and well, let’s just hope we can post again in one year. ;)

Version 0.1.0 is out

Time to celebrate because it’s finished. The very first version 0.1.0 is out there for Download. After four weeks of intensive work it features some user interface elements, a simple terrain editor with a map imported from the original Imperialism and some of our own artwork (mostly terrain tiles).

The software itself requires a Java Runtime and might be running relatively unstable. Please consider reporting bugs either in the Community Forum or via the Contact form!

A lot of activity…

…has been shown lately. A task board was created. User interface elements have been designed. The fine tuning of the game content has made progress. And, in general many new posts have been created in our forum.

I expect the programming work to start in october.

Back from hiatus

What can I say. There was a long time but no activity from here in this project. I took some time out. I needed some time out. I did a lot of nice things and learned a bit or two about programming.

But now I am back and fully interested again. Let’s see what we can do.

Website structure in place

The three prominent places: this blog/site, the forum and the googlecode site are now connected in a nice way. This included modifications of templates of each sites. Now links are shown everywhere and this site is the definitive starting place. [Read More…]
